Emergency Preparedness for Taiwan

Strong earthquakes can occur anywhere in Taiwan. Taiwan is also often hit by typhoons, usually from July to October.

These potential disaster scenarios do not play a big role in the day-to-day life of the Taiwanese or expats. People generally acknowledge the threat, but get on with their lives. It is, however, wise to expect that you may experience some sort of emergency situation during your time in Taiwan, and it¡¦s a good idea to be prepared.
